Codes come back

Nothing is really new. How it gets used is. A short note on why culture moves in loops.

Sample post — replace with a real one.

Culture moves in loops. A code fades, waits, and comes back — but never quite the same. The old meaning gets picked up by new people and used for something else.

For brands this is useful. If you can see what is returning, you can decide early whether it belongs to you.

What to look for

Look at what is dominant, what is fading, and what is only just emerging. The interesting part is usually the edge between the last two.
